PUG-LIFE
My best friend set me up on a blind date to another friend's wedding in 2005. That blind date turned into my husband in 2013 :).He's a fifth grade teacher and the chef in our home.
My family has a thing for pugs, or really any dog with a smashed face! After losing our 15-year-old pug in 2022, we decided we needed another. Palmer fit in quite well and she was born 2-22-22. I can't forget to mention Diggy, our Pekingese-Shih Tzu pup. She's small, sweet and 13-years-old! She also keeps the 30-pound pug in her place, even though she's half her size.
#BOYMOM
On Joe and I's first wedding anniversary, we brought home our first baby, Braxton (now 10-years-old)! In December 2017, we gave Braxton a late Christmas gift, a little brother, Jordan, who is 6. These boys are complete opposites, but their love for one another is amazing and makes me so proud.
EDUCATION
I have a BA in Journalism from SEMO in Cape Girardeau. After college, I worked as a reporter for a newspaper and went on to teach high school journalism. photography and English. Once Braxton was born, I had to scale back so I made this my full time career.
BUSINESS
I have been in business since 2009. My first studio opened just a couple of blocks away on Front Street in Washington, in 2013! I have been blessed with loyal clients and tons of memories! The space was so small, but I loved it so much. Since I couldn't fit large families inside, I decided to look for a bigger space and hit the jackpot on a new location in 2023!

HOBBIES
My life feels jam packed with family and work, but when I do have time, I enjoy Dateline with a Coca-Cola.... and then sleeping with the lights on afterward because I'm scared! I also love interior design.......along with woodworking (totally new for me, but it's so much fun to use power tools)! I am an avid listener of The Rizz Show on The Point and was even the team member of the day in 2020! Best thing that happened during the pandemic!
Martha, our Studio Manager extraordinaire, joined the Photogenics team in 2024. She hit the ground running and excelled from the start.
Her quick adaptation and effective work ethic were immediately apparent. Martha's proactive approach and strong leadership ensure that tasks are efficiently managed. She's the engine behind emails and the friendly face guiding client interactions.
When she's not in the studio, Martha's off exploring, diving into books, or cherishing her own moments and making memories with her husband Erik and twin daughters, Ruthie and Millie.
Laura is affectionately known as the "Baby Whisperer." Her expertise definitely extends beyond soothing newborns and entertaining toddlers during sessions; she ensures the safety and comfort of babies throughout every pose.
With a background in engineering, Laura brings a unique perspective to her role, earning her the nickname "Miss Fix-It." She's always willing to lend a hand and has been known to make an extra trip to the hardware store when Dana gets a crazy idea for the studio. Beyond her task list, Laura's warm demeanor and attentive care for babies creates a comfortable atmosphere that new parents appreciate.
When she's not helping babies fall fast asleep, Laura keeps busy with her husband Joel while they travel and visit their three children, Nate, Grace and Adam.
Dana's journey into photography began in 2009 while she was teaching high school journalism. What began as a summer business flourished into a rewarding career that continues to surpass her expectations. In 2013, Dana took a big leap, opening her first photo studio. Because business grew, she moved to a larger space in 2023, accommodating extended families (along with Dana's prop collection).
Despite the demands of being a business owner, wife, and mother, Dana contributes all she can to those around her and rarely finds herself bored.
Specializing in newborn, cake smash, and family photography, her gratitude towards her own family, clients, and employees is a testament to the relationships built over the past 15 years. Their overwhelming support, care, and loyalty will always keep her motivated.

Once you have selected a date and paid the session deposit, you are set! Next, be on the lookout for a email confirmation.
We want to prepare you before your session on what to expect and what to wear! You will receive links to both a welcome guide and a style guide. These two documents were made to ease your mind for picture day! We also will confirm locations via email.
The day is here and we are excited to capture some amazing photos for you! Don't stress yourself out - if you need anything, please give the studio a call.
Once editing is complete (up to three weeks because we want them to be perfect when you see them!), you will receive an email with a link to your gallery. Sit back and look at your memories!
You can make a favorites list in the gallery and send them right to the photographer. If you want all of the images in your gallery, you can purchase a flash drive with all of those images on it. We also can make your gallery download-able while you wait for your flash drive to come in the mail.
